When reading the quote for today, please keep in mind that the Biblical Jews often communicated with commonplace story-telling and symbolic ideas at the time the Old & New testaments were written.
Due to recent events that will soon effect Florida, I am compelled to begin with Revelation 16:3
"The second one poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died."
We will be witness to the third bowl soon, as the BP oil makes its way into the rivers and beyond.
I hope any reading audience may not be put off by a bible quote.
All peaceful creatures are welcome to this discussion table.
If you do not believe in God, but respect the Earth, then we are still on the same page. The belief system or personal spiritual journey you travel will be recognized with equal relevance in my column.
Personally, and just for a little clarity, I am Jewish. Having made a life-long study of World Religions, I stand firm at the age of 63 upon a solid rock of personal faith. I respect peaceful belief systems, particularly ideas that serve humanity in a humane manner. At the risk of "disturbing" anyone, I would like to share that I was transfigured about 20 years ago when Jesus paid me a very powerful visit.
I have had a lifetime of help from guardian angels and many moments of inspirational poetry and revelation.
I adore aspects of Wiccan culture, and revere aspects of Buddhism & Hinduism.
With all this in mind, I will continue to translate this time approaching Dec. 2012.

thirteenth b'ak'tun
• December 21 - The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, notably used by the Maya civilization and others of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, completes its thirteenth b'ak'tun, or minor numerical sub-cycle, since the calendar's mythical starting point (equivalent to August 11, 3114 BC in the proleptic Gregorian calendar). According to the The Long Count B'ak'tun date of this starting point, it is repeated for the first time in a span of approximately 5,125 solar years. The significance of this period-ending to the pre-Columbian Maya themselves is unclear, and there is an incomplete inscription that records this date. It is also to be found carved on the walls of the Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque, where it functions as a base date from which other dates are computed.
The Maya certainly did not take it as representing the end of the current world, since an inscription by Pacal at Palenque looks forward to a royal anniversary on October 15, 4772.
• December 23 - An alternative date for the completion of the thirteenth B'ak'tun in the Maya calendar, which is supported by a few Mayanist researchers.

An Alien Perspective

We were discussing the impending Global Change, when our Ambassador to Earthlings, Taliesin, came hopping into the library with a horrified expression in his third eye. "They've done it, they've finally, really done it! Those ignorant humans are killing the ocean, our loving, life affirming Goddess. Black blood is spilling relentlessly in the Gulf and will, in time, effect the Atlantic. We should have exterminated that creature over a century ago. They can't seem to create their world with all the healthy forms of energy available to them - the sun, wind, even the oceans' tides. The idiots controlling the situation overpower the good and humble ones. Oh! I can't go back among them", Taliesin wailed almost teary eyed..."I just can't stand to be around that unbalanced world any more. What chaos develops as we near 2012!" Reflecting on years of interaction with humans, disguised as one among them, he thought - I guess I do feel compassion for those few loving souls that are stuck among the Earthlings.
My wife, Macha, tried to calm him down with the local Rum, offering Ambassador Taliesin a place to sit at the cushioned floor and a large glass. By this time all three of his bright blue eyes were wet with sadness.
We knew they were inclined to destroy Planet Earth, having spent many centuries documenting human behavior. Yet, seeing it come to pass had a greater level of impact.
Here, far from their civilization, we have lived for thousands of Earth years. Trying to keep a safe distance from their destructive tendencies, they were occasionally caught in the magnetic shifts of the Bermuda Triangle. Our city, in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, had been primarily peaceful until now.
"Oil everywhere south and just on the other side of the peninsula they call Florida,"
said Taliesin.
Macha and her best pal, Epons, both started a crying session when Ambassador Taliesin showed us his video of oil infested and dying animals, the innocent caught in the depravity of human greed. I got sick in both my stomachs...seeing such beauty destroyed.
The Minister of Ecological Safety, Boadicea, calmly suggested we disburse the chemical compound nicknamed Tranquility, into the atmosphere. It was designed to kill all human life, yet leaving all other animals and vegetation perfectly healthy. This had been created at the beginning of their 20th. century when extreme levels of air pollution began to disrupt our silver ships' smooth departure from the ocean floor. Previously, we never considered using Tranquility, ( called such as we knew Earth would be more peaceful minus the humans ). I was pained to have to discuss it even as a possibility. Yet, all Council Members were becoming furious to see the Earth systematically destroyed by a lower life form. I understood this shared anger, but it was my duty to help preserve the promised 144,000.
"No!", I said. "As uncomfortable as it will get on this time line to 2012, you know we must not interfere. The Creator has given us all the information we need to hold fast until then. Do not forget the dear Mayans who we delighted in working with. Do remember the goodness of the next cycle as promised by The Creator and written into the Calendar of Earth Evolution."
Now Macha, Director of Spiritual Study and Epona, Minister of Historical Data, were beginning to calm down and started deep breathing exercises together.
With the dawn of another day, all Council members agreed to patience, yet, observing with astonishment and pity how the best of humans were still not their leaders.
As head of the Martian colony, I, Poseidon the IX, will inform our Martian Family of the survival plan for the coming years remaining to our home under the sea. I'll send our strategic message tomorrow ( a telepathic-meditaion wave).
Now let us rest from this troubled night.

Radioactive Waste
No safe, permanent solution has yet been found anywhere in the world for the nuclear waste problem.
In the U.S., the only identified and flawed high-level radioactive waste deep repository site at Yucca Mountain, Nevada has been canceled. Beyond Nuclear advocates for an end to the production of nuclear waste and for securing the existing reactor waste in hardened on-site storage.
After $31 billion and counting, utilities cry "hold, enough!"
The nation's electric utilities have collectively paid the U.S. Department of Energy $31 billion to "take away" their radioactive waste.
But of course, there is still nowhere for it to go - a problem that is likely to persist indefinitely. Given the lack of a waste dump or other "solution," the utilities are suing the DOE to try to suspend fees they pay the government for nuclear waste storage. But the DOE wants to keep collecting its annual fees because, as the agency admits to Automated Trader, "they'll eventually develop a long-term storage solution. And when they do, it's likely to be expensive."
QUESTION for our government:
Why would any intelligent being build a Nuclear Power Plant on a fault line?
( i.e. Southern California )

A Holy Place

There are enough nutrient supplies, advanced manufacturing,
and disbursement methods to feed the planet.
An unbalance of wealth to the degree of anyONE starving will not be tolerated.
This system will be the same for medical needs and housing for the planet.

Poets, artists and musicians, scientific exploration and experimentation
that “does no harm” will be encouraged and rewarded.

Mayan CalendarTheir number system was in base 20 (as opposed to our base 10) and they used 3 calendars in conjunction with one another. These 3 calendars were known as Haab, Tzolkin and Long Count.
Haab is very similar to our calendar as it is a measure of months in a year.
A year consisted of 18 months with 20 days each, and an extra 5 days following the last day of the last month, giving a total of 365 days.
Tzolkin is a measure of weeks in a year. There are 20 weeks with each week having either 13 or 20 days adding up again to a total of 365 days.
Long count is a measure of days since the beginning of the Mayan era.
As the mayan number system was in base 20, the long count is based off that (with the exception of one count which is base 18)."
A long count date is represented as such: baktun.katun.tun.uinal.kin
uinal = 20 kin = 20 days
tun = 18 uinal = 360 days = approx. 1 year
katun = 20 tun = 7,200 days = approx. 20 years
baktun = 20 katun = 144,000 days = approx. 394 years
baktun's are numbered from 1 to 13, uinals from 0 to 17 and the other units from 0 to 19.
The beginning of the era in the Mayan calendar is 13.0.0.0.0 which corresponds to August 11, 3114 BC.
The last day of the era in the Mayan Calendar is 12.19.19.17.19 which corresponds to December 20, 2012 AD.
So therefore, the following day is when the calendar goes back to 13.0.0.0.0, marking the end of an era. *

2012 Alignment of Planets
The most commonly discussed alignment in 2012 deals with only the Milky Way, the Sun, the Earth and Venus. There is actually more than one 2012 alignment to consider. Viewed from the Earth, our solar system has high and low locations of planets and star clusters. As we stand on the ground and look up at space, the concept of the solar system is different than viewing it from above because the rest of the solar system moves around the Earth from our point of view. The solar system is a vast plate shaped array of planets and stars called the Milky Way. During the course of the known history of the world, we have always been located at the top edge of this platter of matter.
The 2012 alignment known as the Galactic Alignment will bring about a change that begins on December 21, 2012. It is said that this particular arrangement of the planets and the dark rift at the center of the Milky Way is occurring for the first time since the creation of our current age, our current world. For the first time in recorded history, instead of looking out over the top of the galaxy, we will be looking at it from beneath the galactic plane.
There are those who are convinced this event could place the Earth in danger of being sucked into a black hole at the center of the dark rift in the Milky Way. Others feel that since a somewhat similar alignment involving just the sun and the Milky Way takes place on Winter Solstice every December, that this is just a lot of to do over nothing. But there are other odd planetary placements set to occur in the sky with this 2012 alignment that will place us below the plane of the Galactic Equator for the first time in the known history of the world.
At the same time that we look down the galactic rift from the opposite side of the Galactic Equator, there will also be an annular solar eclipse and Venus will transit across the face of the sun. So in 2012 this alignment is not only placing Earth on an intersection with the Galactic Equator, but doing so precisely aligned with the center of the Galaxy where maximum mass exists. This heavy mass means an increase in gravity creating more influence from the barycenter in our Sun. Astrologers and some astronomers predict this will all line up to deliver untoward effects on Earth.That means rapid increases in solar disruptions as part of this heavenly phenomena.
In addition to all of that due to arrive with the 2012 alignment, two other oddities are set to take place in our solar system. One of them is known as the Galactic Cross which is connected to the Key of Solomon. This formation is the result of the rest of the planets in our solar system lining up in the opposite direction of the Milky Way to create an actual cross formation in the heavens. The Galactic Cross has been awaited since the early days of the world of this current age that we live in. The Galactic Cross alignment is of particular interest to Mystery Schools, secret societies and the occult.
The Cherokee have a Constellation of the Rattlesnake that is unlike any other ancient culture’s sky mapping formations. The Rattlesnake is to appear in the sky in 2012 according to their ancient calendar on December 18, 2012 and marks the beginning of Time Untime that will last for three days. So this means that Time Untime will end on December 21, 2012. Not a great deal of information is published about the Constellation of the Rattlesnake. There is more to the story, but the Cherokee have not been forthcoming with the remainder of their forefather’s instructions. Their reasoning is simple, they do not know that we need the rest of the information and perhaps in time it will become clear that it is of use to the rest of the world. From the sounds of it the Constellation of the Rattlesnake could be the same as the Galactic Cross alignment.
The year 2012 also presents us with the solar maximum, an event that will remain in effect all year. This is expected to be an exceptionally strong solar max by NASA who has stated in print on their website that they expect the 2012 solar max to be a “doozie”, possibly as severe as 1958 or even worse than that. Add to that the gravitational effects the approaching Galaxy will add to the influence of the Sun’s damaging activity and it is easy to see that December 21, 2012 could very well be a most ominous Winter Solstice.
Whether you chose to join the group who prefers to insist that the 2012 alignment will be absolutely no different than the last few Winter Solstices, is completely your choice. Before you make up your mind though, it would be wise to not forget that the governments of the world are expecting something of catastrophic proportion to take place, and soon. They are hastily building and filling a doomsday seed bank far beneath the ground on an Arctic island, and there are some luxury bunkers of rather large proportions being constructed in Russia and at least one other location in the vicinity of the Far East. Then take a look at the Hopi legends of the Ant People, which will lead you to wonder if the reason they have survived so many previous ages of Earth is because at one point long ago, their people escaped devastation by going underground.
